Best advice for all mothers

Posted By : Mrs. F

My daughter turned two the other day and I get a little sentimental every time I think how fast she’s grown and how the past two years have just flown by. In a blink of an eye my darling princess will be 18 and heading off to college! I keep telling everyone, at times I just wish I had a pause button. With the many diversions of everyday life you almost forget to pause and take a breather to savor the precious moments with your children. What’s worse is that my “mommy brain” has caused me to forget so much, and the memory of the past two years is all but a blur. So I always had this fear that I wouldn’t be able to give my daughter a proper account of her childhood, filled with all the details that memories fail to recall.

Luckily, I came across a valuable piece of advice while watching a segment on Brook Burke’s “modern mom” youtube channel  where she was asked  ”What was your best recent mom tip?” and she said that once a friend of hers told her that the best way to keep your children’s memories alive is to write them letters. She would create email accounts for her kids and every once in a while send them short emails recounting memorable experiences. How wonderful! So on the occasion of my daughter’s 2nd birthday I thought It would be the perfect time to start doing just that. I hope this inspires you too..

The best mommies’ advice I came across was by way of an airline announcement as our flight was preparing for landing at KWI international. Apparently, the suggestion was for mums with babies to breast feed just as the airplane was beginning it’s descent, which is when there is sudden drop in the air pressure causing pain in the little ones’ tiny ear canals. Ever notice babies howling away to glory as you are about to land?! Well, now you know. I make it a point to not travel on an airplane with my kids when they have a cold or a running nose: the meds make it worse some more by dampening their reflexes.
Btw, this advice is brought to you by a stay- at- home single dad.
