We recently received an email from Ander Wolff, co founder of PCW (Paris creative workshops). A fashion workshop program launching this summer in Paris. Andre has created this program with colleague designer and Parsons professor Patricio Sarmient. The program offers a training opportunity with hands-on exercises, in real-life situations, all based in the exclusive setting of the Parisian high-fashion capital. "André Wolff and Patricio Sarmiento met in Paris over a decade ago whilst studying at Parsons School of Design. After having collaborated on many fashion projects, both in Paris and abroad, they have acquired the knowledge of the different dynamics of fashion industry today. Therefore, André and Patricio have developed a workshop program with a unique approach of merging hands-on practices with academia to give each student the ability to answer a competitive market that is thirsting for new talent. PCW is presenting its workshop ”Fashion Photography in Paris”, that will start in the summer of 2012.
”Fashion Photography in Paris” is first and foremost a practical training, putting candidates in direct contact with the actual fashion world of Paris. The workshop includes various subjects such as:
• A historical introduction followed by an explanation of the evolution of fashion photography and how it led into its contemporary equivalent.
• Several shooting sessions with professional models, stylists and make-up artists that take place both on-location and studios.
• Lectures from international guest speakers from the fashion world to share their experience and ”savoir-faire”.
• Lectures on techniques for software image-enhancing, a skillset used primarily in fashion and beauty photography.
• Lectures on how to market yourself as a fashion photographer in a highly competetive global market.
• Visits to Parisian museums, galleries and designer houses."
